Merry Merry Quite Contrary.....

This is a super awesome image by Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps!! I bought this image at her Krafty Day in September-it was a blaasttt!! She is a super sweet girl with a really fun and energetic DT!!!
Anyway this is my fav image from her Christmas collection and her name is...you guessed it....Merry!!

I made this little beauty for lovely Kristas challenge- Funky Fibers-notice the hemp fibers!!I had my image coloured to match my paper and left it for a week, then I saw Kristas challenge so I thought that would be a great time to pull out my hemp string!! So it kinda has this vintage country feel now and I really like the way she turned out!!Again, another copic creation sponsored by Melanies copics-hehe-xoxo mel!!!

Well, I feel that I just may be converted over to the Copic side from my Tombows-as much as I enjoy the water-colours, when they cooperate, I haven't been nearly as frustrated with the copics!! Weird eh?

Well ladies I'm off for now,but there's lots more where this came from!!Haha :)

Birthday Balloons

Hello to all my faithful followers! hehehe
Well I know you are shocked that I have surfaced to post and I am glad that all 5 followers have hung in there with me! I'm such a dork!
Anyway this image is a favorite of mine and it's by Victoria Case for The Town Scrapper!!

The DP is from the Pink Paislee line by 360 Degrees. I used some embellishments from my Basic Grey collection and by Prima!
This is probably my third card done with Copic markers, other then make-and-takes that I did at Krafty Day this fall. I was really excited to try my hand at them!!!
I loved colouring this image and I was really happy with the end result, and I am usually a very frustrated card-maker!!hehe

Well I hope this is the beginning of my redemption for my HUGE break in posting!! :)

A Little Inspiration Maybe.....

Hey all, I hope you had a great weekend out in the beautiful sun shine!!! This weekend was pretty uneventful for myself, but busy still, as always!
It's been a while since I've been on to update so here is one of the cards that I made for The Town Scrapper! This image is by The Geeeting Farm and is called Princess Ava. She is so cute and she works perfectly for cards for my nieces, especially since they are into the whole Princess thing right now! I hope you enjoy the card and can manage to find some inspiration somewhere, whether it's making a card for your "perfect match"(hubby, best friend,identical twin haha) or you find a paper/colour theme to inspire you! You never know where your next BIG idea will spring from!!

I used my Tombows to colour up the image and some really great DP by My Minds Eye which is part of the Abbey Road collection. The brads are "spare parts" by The Paper Studio, I used my Labels Ten spellbinders(which Phebe also carries) and a sentiment from an assorted pack by The Gretting Farm. The flowers are from Prima and the ribbon is something I had laying around in my ribbon bin!Sorry the second image is a little fuzzy, I took the picture by myself....can you tell!! hehehe

Autism Awareness

This next card was made to help raise money/awareness for Autism. Everyone on the design team for The Town Scrapper made a card using this stamp and the proceeds from the sales of these cards will go to the Autism Society, plus April is Autism Awareness Month! Now on to my card with this extra special stamp!! This stamp is from the first Victoria Case release that was made for Phebe and The Town Scrapper. The boys name is Evan and he is cute!!!

I used my tombows to colour him up and I got all the DP from Phebe at The Town Scrapper. I wanted him to be fun and the card to be very colourful and cheery!! I am very pleased with how he coloured up and I had fun going wild with my DP! Speaking of, Phebe has a whole whack load of new papers in for the spring/summer, they are so pretty and fun to play with! The brads and "Ribbon" charm are also from Phebe's store, and she has a new selection of spacers and charms just in!

Spring Berries

Hey ladies! I hope everyone is doing well and I must say I was quite bummed that I wasn't able to go to Scrapfest this past weekend, but I heard it was a lot of fun!! I'm sure I would have spent too much and gotten myself in a little trouble with the Hubby had I gone!! ;)
Anyway, I hope everyone that had a chance to go enjoyed themselves!!!

Now on to my project...this is a card I made for Phebe at The Town Scrapper!!
This little gem is a Swiss Pixie from CC Designs is named Birgitta, and she is sooo cute!
I apologize because the true colour of her face is not photographed well ,so she looks like she has a skin condition, but it's actually just my master photography skills!!!
Any how I coloured Brigitta with my Tombow markers and made this card with really sweet DP by October Afternoon(Hay Barn) and Cosmo Cricket( Bloomers, Eat Your Veggies)!!
I even got the cute little strawberry charms and glitter brads from The Town Scrapper!!
It was literally a one-stop-shop! I looooveee it when that happens!!!!!!!

Knight Charlie for my Man

Hello again!!!Hope everyone is doing well!!
This next card I made was a Valentine's day card for my husband! I used and image from Whiff of Joy called "Knight Charlie".....he's so handsome!

I love the way this mighty knight coloured up! It was a lot of grey initially but once i did his sleeve, belt and helmet it really balanced out! Everything for this card can be purchased at The Town Scrapper , from the DP- MVP line by We R Memory Keepers to the image and all your stamping needs!! I found that this is quite nice paper and it's double sided which I love!!! This was my first time using this company's paper and my first time making something for my husband!!!

I thought it looked pretty manly! Inside the card it's matted and I typed out my sentiment-"Happy Valentine's Day to my knight in shining armour!"

He loved the card and I had a great time making it!!

I love it!

Valentines Love

I hope you all had a great weekend and are looking forward to this coming Easter weekend, not only because of its HUGE significance but also because the temperature will be in the 20 degree margin!!!
Hip hip hooray!!!

This card was made for Phebe at The Town Scrapper for Valentines Day. The image is one of the last from the Humble Pie Collection.
I had a good time coloring up this image, and this was the first time I tried doing denim and the color combination turned out pretty good!!!!
Again I used my Basic Grey DP for this card and my Tombows- you know the drill, and you can find all these papers and embellishments at The Town Scrapper!!!

We've Moved (not really though!)

Well this is my first attempt at an easel card! This card was made from a stamp collection by the Greeting Farm!! Its hard to see in my pictures but the card says "We've Moved" on the little tag on the base!

Again I used my Tombows and some really awesome Basic Grey DP and brads! The ribbon is from Micheal's and the flower embellishments are from walmart. They were originally different colours but I coloured them to match the card!
I had a lot of fun making this card and I was itchin to use the background piece of DP by Basic grey! This card was made for The Town Scrapper and the stamp set is also sold there!!
There is another house image in the set and a couple of sentiments to match for different occasions! This card is on display at The Town Scrapper in Petrolia!

Popcorn the Bear

This sweet little guy is Popcorn the Bear, which my friend Melanie so graciously let me stamp! I used him to make a sympathy card for my sweet friend at work, who recently lost a very dear friend to a long and painful battle with cancer! :(

I colored Popcorn with my watercolors (tombows) and just used some simple papers I had- mainly Basic Grey- but I wanted him to be the focus! Popcorn is also a very large image so it becomes difficult to try to do crazy layouts with him!

I LOVED the end result of this card. I don't believe i photographed the inside of the card but it was matted with more Basic Grey and there was a matching duck stamped in the bottom left corner too! I find it quite difficult to make fur look real with my tombows as the definition is lost in blending, keep in mind I have never taken a class for Tombows or any watercolor methods, so that doesn't help either!! hehe :)

Well this was a personal project that I thought I would share because I was very happy with him!! He's soooo cute!

Holy Smokes!!

Well hello everyone....boy do I have some catching up to do!!!!
First of all I was sent a Beautiful Blogger Award from my dearest friend Melanie Holtz!!!
Thank you soooo much Melanie!! As part of accepting this award I am required to share some info about myself so here it is:

So now 10 things about myself you might not know:

1- I trained at Lambton College and after 3years became a Registered Massage Therapist, which I had to give up about 15 months ago and pursue a new career.......Aesthetics! Yay!

2-My mother died suddenly nearly 5 years ago but my mother-in-law is, personality-wise, pretty much like my mom's twin from another mother.....I've always thought that was cool!! Love you Dolores!!!!

3-I am Diabetic and have recently started using an Insulin pump- pretty cool contraptions!!

4-I was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease 5 years ago ( we still are not sure who is responsible for my super crappy immune system! ;))

5-I will be celebrating my 4th Anniversary to my hubby Nathan, on Canada Day!!(still no babies)

6-If I could be anything in the world I would want to be a chef like Rachel Ray(my fav) or Anna Olson!!

7-I would love to go to Ireland and The Netherlands some day to experience my heritage!

8-My husband said we are going to have 2 babies- a boy then a girl-so the boy can look after his little sister and there is the option of twins as long as the boy comes out first!! This is just a little insight into my life and my spouse!! :)

9-I have always wanted either a Lion cub or Siberian Tiger cub as a pet.....I think I could tame it! FYI, I am a huge animal lover-especially kitties

10-My family and friends take priority over everything- I cherish them all dearly!!

Well there you have it....who's next!!

Sea Worthy Miss Anya

I had a sailors theme going on with this card........not sure why but the I think this image, from the Dressy Miss Anya collection, with her sun dress and hat took me away to Gilligan's Island!

Here is another card made for Phebe at The Town Scrapper in Petrolia!!!

This beauty is from the Miss Anya Dressy Collection- by the way I LOVE Miss Anya images!!

I coloured her with my tombows as always!!

The patterned DP is all Basic Grey(which I also love very much!) and the solid paper is from DCWV. The brown striped paper flower is from Prima Flowers and the crocheted flower in the centre is from Imaginisce- Bazzill Collection in Honeycomb. The brad is from Basicgrey's Glazed Brads collection and the sentiment is something I had kickin around!
All of these beautiful papers and embellishments can be found at The Town Scrapper except for the ribbons, but there are so many beautiful paper sets with embellishments to match at The Town Scrapper, you will not be disappointed!

The Town Scrapper- Antoinette

Hey....I'm finally back....an yes I am alive! I know it's been a while since I have posted anything but I needed to take a bit of time off around Christmas.....there was just too much going on!

Now January is finally here, so I can post my FIRST card for The Town Scrapper!!

Here she is....Antoinette!!!

The image, BoBunny button set and My Minds Eye paper can all be purchased at The Town Scrapper in Petrolia....such a short drive for all the beautiful stamps, papers and embellishments you will find in Phebe's store!!!!

This card is made with a Kraftin' Kimmie Stamp from the Moonlight Whispers collection and her name is Antoinette!! She is sooo cute!!!!!

The patterned DP that the image is mounted on and the background squares are from My Minds Eye -Free Bird "Love" set. The solid paper in the background is from DCWV.

The Buttons are from BoBunny Buttons and Bling in Tis' the Season set. The ribbon I had on hand, and the sentiment is by Kolette Hall. I coloured the image with my tombow water colour markers and added some Frosted Lace Stickles to the hem of her dress and her ear muffs. The scalloped circle behind the image was cut using a Cuttlebug and I used some Glossy Accents with white flower soft to give the affect of snow flakes....it may be a little difficult to see it though!!

I LOVE this image....she has just the right amount of whimsy and is still festive which works great for those winter birthdays, anniversary's or just to say thank-you!!

Hark the Herald Angel

Wow, it's been a while since I have had a chance to post anything!!!Boy time flies, especially around Christmas!!
I am very excited to share that I have been asked to be a DT Member for The Town Scrapper out in Petrolia, Ontario! I am super thrilled and hope you guys will swing by and check out all the great stuff Phebe has to offer in her store...and at very reasonable prices!! Look for some posts from me there in the new year!!!
Well, now that I've shared my exciting news(YAY), it's time to get to my post for today!!

This is my Christmas Angel card which I designed for my mother-in-law, Dolores, for Christmas!!
By simply following a few guidelines set out by High Hopes, I am now going to be entering it in their sketch challenge this week....just in the nick of time!
The stamp is a High Hopes Stamp called Herald Angel, which I coloured with my tombow markers. I wanted a Vintage/Victorian look to this card. I used a variety of papers(none of which had names on the back)which are likely The Paper Studio DP and some embellishments I had on hand from the dollar store and Wal-mart. I pop-dotted my angel and her horn naturally curled out off the paper which I couldn't have done better myself if I tried!!The circular piece of paper she is mounted above is not photographed to its true colour....it is actually more of a purple burgundy and does match the other papers....Scouts Honour!

Hello Everyone,
I hadn't realised how long it has been since I posted something new, but hold on tight cuz here it comes!!
I made this card because I had just got this stamp and I wanted to play around with it!! Turns out it only need a very minor tweak to fit into a challenge for this week!! Yay! I love it when that happens.....not that I don't love making cards, but this week/weekend is especially busy for me!!!
I used DCWV card stock and Paper Studio DP with some dollar store ribbon, Walmart paper flowers and my High Hopes stamp; Skating Mudzie and their sentiment that is from the winter collection!
I used my tombows to color him and then used stickles on his skates and the snowflakes. I also used glossy accents to give the skating rink an authentic look!
Hehe a moose in leg warmers....he makes me giggle!

Sweet Baby Jesus

This card was made with a High Hopes challenge in mind and I already had this cute image (Little Saviour) from High Hopes all colored and ready to go. I colored him with my tombow markers and the paper is all from The Paper Studio...just some older pieces I had laying around. I wanted to do a night sky theme in this card since the star is out to guide the wise men- likely at night time!!hehe Anyway, I used some stickles in frosted lace and some glossy accents on the star and some button stick-on's. The star was the finishing touch for me which I picked up at Dollarama. I knew I wanted a star there it was just a matter of finding one, which isn't very hard this time of year!
Don't you just wanna pinch his cheeks!!

Under the Sea

Well I was card making with Mel and Davina this past Saturday making some cards, for a Christmas fundraising event our church does during the Christmas season ,and after we finished our quota for that we did a few personal projects. I made this card with a very beginner image that I actually coloured with some copic markers so I could play around with them. The colouring isn't anything spectacular but I had chosen this image with my niece Hannah in mind. Right now, Ariel is her fav princess, and both her and her older sister put in a request for me(Auntie) to make them EACH a card and send it in the mail- note:this is what happens after you send one card to a child!! So i thought I should do something with this image now and this was my mastermind plan. I really suck as drawing but the card is in the shape of a shell which i coloured with my tombow markers in attempts to make it look a little more life-like. I distressed the edges very lightly with an ink (antique linen- i think) for a little more depth. I cut a circle out of some pearlized paper to cut out a pearl and pop-dotted it on a small fleshy pink circle. All the pink circles matting the images, etc. were created with the circle spellbinder kit. The sentiment was one i had on hand and I used Dew drops to create bubbles. I glitzed up the image with some different stickles in Dark Blue(hair) and Patina(mermaid).
I thought it was cute.....totally of season but cute!!
Hannah will love it!

Snowflakes and Snowmen

Well I knocked on wood after my last post but it didn't seem to matter. My husband has a nasty little cold and I am starting to have some scratchiness in my throat.... ya, I'm pretty sure scratchiness is not a proper word, but spell check says I'm good-to-go!
Anyway, the latest card I have done is yet another Christmas Beauty featuring snowflakes and my snowman family!!

The stamp is a High Hopes Stamp called "Snow Family" and it is colored with my tombow markers. The background DP is from The Paper Studio and the embellishments are dollar store buys. I used my Mainstays Glitter in Crystal to give the snowflakes on the DP a little POP and I outlined the snowmen with some Frosted Lace Stickles. I used an Ancient Page ink pad in Foxglove for my sentiment, the snowflakes surrounding the snowmen and to distress the edges of the card.
I love lavenders and light blues for Christmas cards....chilling, but sooo pretty!!!

Well keep taking your Vitamin C and gettin lots of rest to combat all these little bugs going around and I look forward to seeing more from everyone!!

Sophisticated Thanks

Well we are now past the middle of the week which means the weekend is almost here!!
So far everyone in my house(my husband and I) has managed to dodge all the sickness out there right now.....I do believe not having children has contributed to that!As cute as they are......they ooze snot and are perfect little breading-grounds.....but sooo cute!~ hehe
Anyways this card is a thank-you that I made for the pastors wife(Lyn)in my church! Every once-in-a-while the church pools together favorite recipes and makes a cookbook(I love cooking and baking) so naturally I purchased one. Well my little sister recently moved out of my parents house and is learning to be an independent person with a disablilty. I have been wanting to get this cookbook for her because she lost her original copy and it has a lot of our late mothers favorite recipes. Well the anual church garage sale was coming up and I asked Lyn to snag me up a cookbook if one was donated...of course none were....so she continued searching throughout our church to find an extra. It has been months now and she delivered a copy of the cookbook to me but would not accept any money so I made her this card!!!

For this card I used DCWV and K&Company DP. The image and sentiment are from The Pink Cat Studio;Lily and Tweet set. The flower embellishments I cut out of matching cardstock and the jewels along the bottom are a "dollar store special". The swooped paper from left to right is slightly pop-dotted and the image and sentiment are both pop-dotted a bit higher. The sunglasses have glossy accents on them and the earings are loose gems i put on. The layout for this card was inspired by a sketch challenge for The Humble Pie challenge which it will be entered in as we speak!

Hello everyone
I was blog hopping a few days ago and saw a challenge for a kid's card on the High Hopes Stamps blog and thought that sounded like fun! Now I don't have any children of my own but I do have 3 beautiful niece's that are the world to me- so they were my inspiration! These little girls love pink and kitties!!!

Aren't they flippin cute!!!!!!!(along with my little brother!!)
Well on to the card info -I used a stripped, linen-textured DP but I'm not sure who it's made by(Amy L thinks it's Daisy Buckets and so do I)....I must have glued that corner down to something...hehe! Sooo....the patterned paper is My Minds Eye called Pretty Petals, which is matted with white card stock and pop-dotted on top. The image is Miss Zoe from High Hopes Stamps and she is coloured with Tombow markers, matted and pop-dotted as well. I used a Gelly Roller Pen to add sparkle to the water in the pail as well. My ribbon is a Dollarama buy and the paper flower embellishment is by E Line which I bought at The Town Scrapper in Petrolia for a very reasonable price!!

Sparkles and Snowmen

Boy do I LOVE Christmas!! It's such a peaceful time of year! From decorating the apartment to baking and Christmas party's, I just can't get enough!
Don't tell anyone but, for the last few days, I have been listening to a Christmas CD in my car that my friend Dean made for me!!(shhhhh)
Anyways, seeing as I am so in-the-spirit, I decided to do a Christmas card- here it is!
For this card I used my Snowmen stamp from High Hopes Stamps with a DCWV glitter card in light blue as my base. I have two seperate sections of snow- the big hill in the back lays flat and the second piece I used Mainstays craft glitter in Crystal to add some pop and then pop-dotted it on top of the first piece. I coloured my snowmen using my Tombow watercolour markers and cut out the three christmas trees from a piece of DP from The Paper Studio called Christmas Tree Polka.These were all pop dotted as well to add dimension along with the stmaped sentiment.
This card is not your typical "Christmas" colours but I think it's pretty and still leaves you with the feeling of Christmas!! (Yay only 8 1/2 weeks to go)

Well here it is....my first card to post!!
This card features a stamp from the Miss Anya Collection by The Greeting Farm, which I soooo love!! The paper is by The Paper Studio and I coloured my image with my Tombow watercolour markers! I am just starting out with the markers and this is one of the first few stamps I"ve coloured. I am still getting use to them...hehe..
think it may take me some time to really nail it but I'm proud of this one!!
